I am getting over a flu like thing, but in general alright! The mountains have a little snow on them, and grandma is over taking care of little Nika and grinding coffee down to a fine powder all day. I have made myself at home- I made an omelet and coffee this morning, along with some very toasty toast, and just now made some super spicy mush of potatoes and tomatoes.
The school's pretty nice- I don't know how much I like teaching when the school system seems to be designed to provide jobs and not an education, but I like the kids and am enjoying the work. I'm starting an English Club tomorrow for the older students and some of the teachers, we'll see how that goes.
The best part about being here so far is that my walk to school has giant snow capped mountains, rivers, rocks, giant trees, palm trees, kiwis, dozens of cows, chickens, pigs, geese, turkeys... and I am so comfortable here that I sing while I'm walking, which is something I didn't really do in the States.
The worst part is the habit women have of screaming about everything, when they are happy and sad, and instead of varying volume to make their emotion known, it seems to be more of a melodic yelling, where one note means angry, another means drunk, and another means asking for something, and another means complaining... etc. And let me tell you. It's hard on the brain.
Also, men all over the world like to look like bad-asses. It's a very hard job to dangle a cigarette from your mouth constantly and be drunk the whole day. But! who am I to proclaim what masculinity really is!
